Schools competing in Heroes of the UAE - National Inter-school Climate Change Quiz finalised

Winners of the Elimination Round for the government schools participating in The Heroes of the UAE Climate Change Quiz have been announced. This hotly contested quiz competition, which offers the opportunity for students to pitch their knowledge on global warming and climate change will take place on April 20th at the Knowledge Village Auditorium in Dubai.

The competition will comprise three sessions involving Government girls schools, Government boys schools, and  Private Schools.

Out of a total of 46 private schools that participated from all emirates, only six qualified for the final round. The names of the shortlisted schools are as follows; Al Nahda Girls School, Abu Dhabi; Indian School, Ajman; Indian Public High School, Ras Al Khaimah; St. Mary’s Catholic High School,  Dubai;  Our Own English High School,  Fujairah and Our Own English High School, Sharjah.

 From the 27 Government boys schools that attempted the Elimination round, only six schools qualified. They include , Al Tamauz Model School ,Abu Dhabi; Ibn Al Haytham School ,Ajman; Istiklal School, Fujairah; Saeed Bin Jubair School, Ras Al Khaimah and Othman Bin Affan School,  Umm Al Quwain.

Out of a total of 39 government girls schools that attempted the Elimination round, the seven finalists that made it to the finals  include, Aatekah Bint Abdul Mutaleb School, Abu Dhabi; Al Khansaa School, Dubai; Al Shaymaa School, Sharjah; Sumaya Bint Khayat School, Ajman; Awhala School, Fujairah; Suhaila School, Ras Al Khaimah, and Umm Al Quwain School, Umm Al Quwain.

 Each winning team will receive a trophy and a green makeover for their school, conducted by sustainability experts. Every winning student will also be awarded a certificate and a  personal laptop computer.
